Awesome

An out of town family is here in Hershey caring for the their young son at the Penn State Med Center while he battles Leukemia.
I can't imagine what they are going through, but I know it hasn't been easy.
Added to their concerns is a blown head gasket on their P38, and I offered to perform the repairs for just the parts at cost.
Another customer was here picking up his D90 and I was going over the various other Rover projects we're working on with him, including the P38.

He offers to pay for the parts to help out this family.

Doesn't know them, may never cross paths with them.

Awesome.

Simply Awesome.

I should have added that this whole community is awesome!

Clayton has given me a short list of some other items he'd like checked into while it's here such as heater fan and an abs issue.

If this seems like a reasonable idea, I'd like to diagnose these other issues, see what's needed and update everyone here.
We could either pool resources to fix these issues- it's winter and they'll need good heat as well as effective braking- or if everyone trusts me, paypal to me and I'll give a check to Clayton. That way, he can decide if he wants to use everyone's generosity to fix more of the car or something else that may be more pressing.
Thoughts?

Quick update: the left hand cylinder head gasket had blown out at the coolant passage at the rear, the heads check out, new valve stem seals, light skim and going back together today.
Haven't looked into the heater fan and abs issues yet, but should be running today.

What's your PayPal, I am happy to donate to the cause what I can. If you need any parts that you don't have let me known we have a couple p38 parts cars available.

Brewie, do you have roof rails on one of those P38's that you would part with? PM me if so, don't want to hijack Roverlab's thread...
