With all this great stuff happening, if there is a car detailing place close to you who could make the P38 feel like new again, that would be the frosting on the cake for a family in need. I'm in.

My paypal is trevor roverlab com

My plan was to finish the head gasket repair-hopefully today-and diagnose the ABS and heater fan issues.
I've received $300 towards the parts from my local customer.
I'll run a tally to date in a few minutes.

I was supplying the labor and originally offered the parts to the owner at my cost. (That still stands: I will "sell" the parts to whomever for this project at cost.)

I 've only just met Clayton and I couldn't possibly know his situation, but I was considering offering him the cash that is donated in case he needs it for something other than just the Rover.

------ Follow up post added January 24th, 2014 02:04 PM ------

To date, I've spent $528.12 for head set, bolts, oil and filter, coolant, spark plugs, throttle body heater, shipping, machine shop and PA sales tax.
I have not applied the $300 from Bret to this total.

Trevor,
Let me know when you have the fan issue dio'd. I have a good HVAC head and a bunch of fan relays that I'd be happy to donate if any of those were the cause.

Done. You can do what you like with my contribution, be it gas/parts for the car or a gift for their son. No kid should ever be in the hospital. Good on you for doing your part, and for letting us help where we can.

PP just sent to be put toward the cause. I know something as simple as dinner out can be a nice mini "escape" for the parents when in such a tough situation, if that may be possible too. Thoughts and prayers going out as well. Great people, great random act of kindness, thanks Trevor.

I'll say it again: you guys are simply awesome.
A flurry (get it? it's winter and there was a flurry. Sorry.) of activity over the weekend brought the total contributions to $1465.
I was running a tap down an exhaust bolt thread and managed to break a tap. Jumped onto another broken Rover, so didn't get it running Friday.
Today for sure.
Matt, I'll reach out to you as soon as we know what we need, thanks!
