Has anyone ever purchased from this site? Prices appear pretty low.

I've heard good things about it from the LC side. I talked to the guy about 2 years ago and he seemed pretty on top of things and really helpful.
That seems like good price for the diesel, 13k all said and done. It has the Perenti setup with Isuzu TDI and the LT95 gearbox.

You won't be able to import the diesel, Isuzu not original equipment. Buy the V8 and convert it here to what you want.

but the military Aussie trucks can get in, so it could probably slide in under that, since that was originally equipped with that setup.

wrong - the Aussie trucks were imported back in the day unassembled...so some of them would be "factory Isuzu" - but you are right if it was changed.

I used them about 2 years ago and purchased a 1983 HJ47 Troopy (picture from current owner)
My new phone doesn't have any pictures of it
He put different tires on the truck but for the most part it was the same
Had great luck with them
No real issues at all
Dealt with the owner Phil

It's was my first import and they take care of everything
Shipping at the time was created not roro
I miss the truck so much but couldn't find another with out rust and have always loved defenders
So I purchased a 89 110 - it's on it's way now different company

Yes, this is exactly why we see the "Z" in the vin as it decodes to Isuzu. As the years have gone on there have been many V8 "counties" that have been converted to Isuzu though, so you need to make sure the truck in question was an original Isuzu "County". Any 110 or 120 Isuzu are usually far and few between though.

Did you inspect this one? Lots of 5 bar applications would scare me a little. Who did you buy from?

So there are civilian Defenders built at the factory with the Isuzu?

No inspection-rolling the dice a bit
Lots of phone conversations 230 plus emails back and forth
Pictures
I'm a bit nervous still
Talked to several different sources involved with shipping this one so I know it's on it's way

What is 5 bar I'm new to defenders
Thanks

if this is a true perentie with factory galv chassis and factory isuzu with a vin that validates that engine, there is no gamble. no brainer in my book.

In your case it is the shiny stuff put on the hood, the wing tops and around all the sills and door bottoms. A few unscrupulous folks use it to hide rust, and rot.

It's the aluminum plating that people put over damaged body panels or to protect them.
