Anyone watching Long Way Down?

It's been on Fox reality the past month or so. I can't stand the channel, but the LWD is entertaining. A couple guys ride from Scotland to Cape Town, SA... granted they whine a lot and have a large support crew, but it's cool if you like motorcycles or are interested mildly in Africa.

Of Land Rover interest. I've spotted several Defenders and Series vehicles during the first 5 or so episodes. Last one was a 110 lurching it's way up a badly beaten dirt road. I mean swaying through ~45 degrees over the road bumps.

I've been sending the sightings to Rovers North, too. Maybe another (free!) mug will ease the sale of the often infuriating HMPTDMT.

I already watched it and read the book. An excellent program. And yes, lot of rovers.

I havent seen LWD, but I saw a bunch of Race to Dakar - Charlie B comes across as a pretty annoying twit, which kind of diminishes the fun.

Haven't seen Race to Dakar. LWD's entertaining, not as good as LWR, but I miss riding so I'll take what I can get.

The wife and I enjoy it and she has taken to point out the Rovers.

Anyone catch the Defenders in the new James Bond trailers...

Its also a great way to point out to the wife why I need the new F800GS instead of my F650GS!!!

They are working on doing Long Way Up now, from South America to CA.

I do not check PMs. Call or email if you need something.

ECR is not a parts source. We are not in the mail order business.

I thought I was the only one that saw that value in the show! SWMBO, after seeing most of LWR last year and then the first 2 episodes of LWR, says "why don't you get a BMW GS?" then "what would you think of me if I started to ride a motorcycle? Do you think I'd like it? Maybe I should take a class..."

Spending a couple months riding in the middle of nowhere would be a great way to escape the rat race, for sure.

Heck, I would almost volunteer to be on the support crew just to rover through those areas.

Unfortunately, there would be half an episode where the riders are waiting at a border crossing while we were out playing...
