Anyone used "Lowmileageparts.com"?

My RRC has 221,001.8 on it, as of pulling into my spot at the office today.

The heads were done about 50k miles ago, but I just can't keep the damn thing from hemorrhaging oil any longer. Okay, maybe not hemorrhaging, but it's not just a rover drip anymore. That, and I'm probably down to only 150hp or so at this point if I had to guess.

I'd pay up to $2k for a quality used motor to go through, refresh, and drop in... So I found this place.

Anyone heard of em?

If you are llooking for something to use as a rebuildable core, free or sub-$500 is what you should be paying. Is yours currently a 4.2? I guess that might command a little higher $$. But I think $2k is a lot.

If i can get a solid low miles 4.2 (mine is currently a 4.2) that I can put another 150k on, (my tranny is almost new) then I'll pay more than $500.

I'm on the edge of calling Nick for the LS swap adapters, but as much as I love my truck, I'm constantly reminded it's "just" a RRC and that a $10k motor swap may not be the smartest move to make.

How much oil are you losing that you're thinking about swapping the whole thing??
Where's it leaking?

The rear main is barely holding on. I've band-aided the rest sufficiently and am fine with it, but that rear main is, for lack of a better analogy, like a 70 year old woman in heels under a stop light on the south side.

I drive it like hell anyways, and after 1200 miles in 20 hours, the tailgate had some oil on it...
and I was down about 3/4 qt of 15w40. I have since towed the 110 on a 1ton trailer 600 miles with it, and lost about 1/4 qt.

The spot for what? If the answer is losing your radio and anal virginity under the moonlight in one stop, then yeah you're probably right.

.
You know... it might not be a rear main seal.
On these motors the crucifix seals can lead you to think the rear seal is bad...

Clueless. Googled. Found Seal. still don't know where it goes or what it does. will google more.

Smells like yanking motor is necessary regardless.

2k is pricey for a low mileage used. You should be able to find one for less than 500. I bought a complete truck with low mileage powertrain, 4.2, for about 2k. I also bought a 3.9 w/ ~ 135k for less than 300. She's still running strong, with more than 6k miles. If you're ok spending 2k on a used, I'd rebuild the block you already have.

Crucifix seals can be redone(RightStuff) in a few hours...only dropping the sump pan.
