Anyone recognize this '83 110?

Anyone recognize this one, and/or know the history of it? Looks like someone started a restoration, but sold it before it was completed. LHD, TD5 dash, VIN SALLDHAG7AA187391, The UN stickers are covering up the holes for the cage tie-in.

I was able to buy it on OVE for less than that. In fact, they jumped at my offer. Makes me wish I would've offered less.

Rear crossmember is good, frame is good, bulkhead appears to be good. Underside of hood, and inside of rear door is pretty rusty, but nothing a good strip and respray won't fix. Motor runs, but barely.

I think I came up with an idea to fix the dilemma I'm facing.

I have a healthy 3.5L v8 in the '88 that is getting pulled. The '83 has a 200Tdi that is in dire need of a rebuild. Would it be viable to swap the petrol motor into the diesel truck? The '83 is old enough that I can get collector plates, which means two-speed idle test once every 5 years for petrol motors. With diesel, it's once a year for opacity. Are the bell-housings the same?

This way, the 200Tdi could get re-built, and I still have a rover to drive while the '88 gets restored. As time and budget allow, I could clean up the '83 too.

I'll happily trade you my better kidney for that internal cage. Let me know if you want to part with it.

If you got that for $20, I think you got a good deal. Looks like a great truck! Clean!
