Anyone know anything about Morgan Aero 8

Seems like there are less than a dozen for sale in the country and half of them are at the dealer in Palm Beach.

It also seems that the prices have remained quite high, but I am not sure how much of that is based on dealers just not selling them.

Have any gone to auction or sold on ebay?

Is there any US forum for them (I am guessing no as google reveals none and most owners seem to be of the age where they are not computer/internet types).

I saw ONE driving around my area 4 years ago, but have not seen one since in person. The guy up the road has a plus 8, but I have my heart set on the aero 8.

wood chassis. cross eyed. real fast. Richard Hammond has one.

They are cool, but I would get something else that looks better. If you want an old, all british car, get a Marcos GT if you want the wood chassis!

I had an opportunity to drive one for Motorweek at Summit Point Raceway while they filmed for one of their shows many many moons ago. Quite an improvement with the BMW engine and other enhancements over the Rover V8 and 4 cyls of the more recent offerings, or the Ford and Triumph engine of olde.
Treasured has an aluminum bodied SS with a hot 4 cyl Ford they are completing a restoration on. Easily identifiable as an olde English sports car, but not sure if I think the same of the Aero.
Good luck with your search!

Daniel covered anything I'd have added. I like the look I must say. They're even quite rare back in England, I only remember seeing one. On a more practical and personal note, it's another one of those cars I admire but could never see myself driving in public.

Market is light for these anywhere...even in the UK. Not sure how they stay in business.

Ever thought about a Caterham instead?

Not to derail, but I could handle a Lotus, or
Caterham. Even a hairy chested TVR.

Have you tried this place: http://www.morganwest.net/

Met a guy that works there. I think it's all Brits. Maybe they have some leads.

Check out Reborn- he used to build some Defenders, but is a player in the Morgan circle. Saw one last month at his place in SC...
