Coolest thing I have seen in porsches. Owned by a D-90 source member. Scroll to post 7.
One of my other projects - besides doing a frame up restoration on my 1967 SIIA and refurbishing the Boler trailer is restoring my old Porsche 356 Carrera with custom bodywork by Dean Jeffries (creator of the Mantaray, the Monkeemobile, The Green Hornet's Black Beauty, and the Landmaster from Damnation Alley). I'm trying to get the car finished in time to have it on the cover of the October 2009 Rod & Custom Magazine - it was on the cover of the October 1959 issue.

Looking good, Jack. I'll be at Amelia with Don Fowler. It would be nice to meet up if you are making it down.

What a great read. It's people like Jack that kindle my interest in cars... always been more interested in the stories than the specs.

old post but since it's being resurrected and several of the cars mentioned in the thread are also mentioned here recently (5 Most Dangerous Porsches - Rennlist)

The 996 GT2 took over the 930 turbo's "widow maker" moniker

This Porsche crash two days ago made the news. RIP x4. Not implying it was the fault of the car. Don't watch if you are squeamish.

Looked more like a Le Mans style pitstop rather than an off ramp? Is that how they are in Greece? what was the driver thinking? looks like he never even touched his brakes as if he had no idea he had gone off?? perhaps his Ibiza/ mikanos CD mix had fallen on the floor
