Anyone Interested In an FN 5.7mm Pistol?

I am trying to raise some quick funds - anyone interested in an FN 5.7mm pistol? In my opinion, one of the coolest pistols I have shot. It has adjustable sights, and can hit up to 200 yards. Fully loaded it weighs less than the Glock 17 with 20rds. Brand new (I put 150rds through it), with case, three 20rd mags, Blackhawk CQC holster (Surefire not included).

$1100.

And please, let's not start a debate on the 5.7mm round or guns in general. Just PM/email me if interested.

Where locally do you shoot that? I've been asked to discontinue shooting the same weapon and not bring it back to Gilberts.

NRA range. Why can't you shoot it? It's less velocity than a .223

they claim that their backstop isn't rated for 5.7. A shitfit was thrown when it was produced.

What?! The .223 will do a hell of a lot more damage! F' 'em, go to the NRA range.

Its surprising that a shooting range would be so ill informed. The civillian ammo for that pistol is actually pretty mild. Not to take away from its "coolness" factor in any way!

I'd love to figure a way to scope it and see what it would do in a prairie dog town. Its a unique concept.

Let me guess....indoor pistol range with steel back walls? Probably telling the truth about the stops not being rated for it. Around here they've hardened up a few bays at a couple ranges to deal with higher power rounds up to intermediate rifle stuff, but your average pistol bay isn't built to take it.

Any range that allows 223/5.56 and doesn't allow 5.7 are ignorant. Granted, when I was shooting it at the NRA Range they ran up to me and asked if I was shooting AP rounds (which are illegal by the way), but were fine with it when then learned I was shooting the sporting round. Holy crap, it's just a souped up high-powered .22LR!!!

Now, I understand if Gilberts is pistol only, then not allowing the 5.7 makes sense.

Damn it, I got sucked into a sidebar discussion. Back to the sale of this amazing piece of Belgian engineering.

Comes with 5 boxes of 5.7 rounds ($100 value)!!!

Here's a pic of the actual weapon. 3 20rd mags, Blackhawk CQC holster, and 150 rounds.

I sooo want to buy this...

but there's no way the boss is going to sign off on another weapon... especially one at that price with pricey ammo (assuming you can even find the stuff)

Actually, the place to buy 5.7 is at gun shows. It's just esoteric enough that the mom and pop tables often have it and it doesn't move too quickly. Buying it through conventional means will make you poor with a quickness.

Too bad you can't get the quasi-AP stuff easily.

Actually, 5.7 is running comparable to most handgun rounds and cheaper than 5.56. I can get 50 rounds of 5.7 for between $18 and $20. That's about 38 to 40 cents per round. And that's for quality reloadable brass, not cheap import crap. So it's not any more expensive than shooting an AR, .45, or or some of the other expensive rounds. Oh, and the ammo is not hard to find.

Now, finding ammo for my .380ACP is a different story!
