That explains why I couldn't find any advert here for a $1k item Keith was selling. As a result your story was making no sense yesterday morning.
It all makes sense now.

Ok guys, Wow. Thanks for having my back on this one...

I sent him an email told him my price on an engine I was letting go. Didn't hear back right away so left town and went into the backcountry in a canoe. Got back today, didn't see his email right away, checked D90 and took a nap since I hadn't slept in a few days. Called him back when I found his number.

All is well. The engine will ship. I guess I should've been more deliberate but Ive had 10 offers on this engine and half the guys don't email back in the end. I try to be straight forward and give details as requested, but sometimes life gets in the way, and sometimes youre trying to get out and live it. Only one you know.

Anyway, my apologies Scott. I hope youre not too upset with me. Ill buy you a cold one next time Im down your way.

and thanks again to the guys on the D90source for vouching.

Thanks Keith, I appreciate you getting in touch with me. I'm sorry for all this. After talking with you I understand that you are a stand up guy and I appreciate your ability to get away from the constant connection to this cyber world. Had I known you were headed out of town I would have handled the situation differently. Please accept my apologies and know that I will buy the second round. Talk to you soon and take care

Keith now you know to give out your schedule for the next three weeks in detail - even when they're just prospective buyers at the time. Lesson learned.

As a rule, I trust people buying and selling on the forums. If I wanted immediate email response, tracking information, confirmation of pallet and transport to shipping depot, I would pay full retail from a retailer. People forget that buying/selling on a forum has its costs (lack of CS) and benefits (savings). We are not Amazon Prime.

Use your CC on PayPal. You are protected if an item does not arrive or if you provide evidence of return for multiple reasons. Enjoy the cost savings and the extra planning time.

It's not my money so I guess it's easy for me to say, but you did ask the forum (collectively) and as a person with no interest either way, I suggest you take a deep breath and maybe don't "escalate" things.

Keith, I'll give you $1,001 cash in hand for your Sube lump.
Only kidding Scott glad you two worked it out without throwing around any insults.

You're funny Jackie! I want to start a new way of purchasing items on this forum. You send the item when requested and the buyer will pay you when he gets around to it. Let's try that for a week and see how it goes

Seriously, I'm glad it worked out! Thanks Keith

I personally think after a week this is an overreaction, but $1000 is a lot different to different people.

This "arrow up"

Some people are not set up to ship large items. Especially on a timely basis. Keith probably bit off more then he could chew trying to help a guy out that he thought was a fellow enthusiast. But the guy went bipolar on him when Keith did not say "how High" after Scott said jump.

Do me a favor Scott. Never try to buy anything from me. I do not like your style.
Would rather deal with Keith all day long.
