Anyone have experience with Wright Off-road - Acoustic Mat System

The Acoustic Mat System

Made from cast dense Polyurethane, this custom fit mat drastically reduces noise entering the operator cabin and panel reverberation.

Hi Ade,

I have seen the stuff at shows. Looks quite good, you can see how it fits on the site, does leave some gaps on the edge. You also have to cut it yourself for the seat box compartment lids.
Would cost $400 (200GBP) + shipping (heavy!). A friend of mine was looking at it for his NAS replica but decided it wasnt worth it. Sound reduction in a land rover would be minimal as the whole thing is noisy! He is thinking of a spay liner would be better.

Hope it helps

James

They have the same kit forsale too. I'd like to know if it would really be worth it.

It's an upgrade you see ECR do alot so there must be something to it. Of course they use a different product but same goal- I think it's called DynaMat.

There is a 3 maybe 4 page article in Land Rover Monthly (or was it Land Rover World) about it. They supposedly did a decible test and there was a major improvement.

We sell it for the Series trucks here at AB and it makes a HUGE improvement.

I wonder if it is any better than the heavy duty rubber that comes in an ROW spec truck? I have that rubber already, and it does make a big difference. It covers the seat box, tunnel and floor, and the foot wells. It is rubber with insulation attached to it.

I have the LR HD one also that I got from RDS. I did not get the seat box cover yet but did get the 1 piece firewall cover and the one piece floor mat and it made a big difference in the D. Made it warmer too. IT was in the $500 range but a great piece. I think I will eventually get the seat box cover too..

I installed the UK NoiseKiller kit (http://www.noisekiller.co.uk/sound_p...ehicles_01.php) about 5 years ago. In hindsight, I should have just done a DynaMat Extreme install instead - it's available locally, and the kit was made for a LHD, manual transmission 90. Had to tweak it a bit for the kit to fit the RHD and automatic.

I did an average sound level reading for a week before and the week after the install. I don't remember the levels (high 60s to low 70s decibels), but I remember the difference was about 6-7 decibels less after the install. It was quite a significant difference.
