Anyone from Frisco ?

I'm playing with the idea of a 7 days road trip from San Francisco to Vancouver for Christmas. Last time I was around it was 35 years ago and I was a kid, so basically it's uncharted territory for me. Any advice, ideas or suggestions are very much welcome.

Cheers

Check out the Marine Headlands. Amazing views of San Fran/Golden Gate and Pacific.

Obviously need to hit up Sonoma/Napa Valley if your into wine.

I'm fighting hard for that route at home, wife has the east version, NY, Boston and Toronto. I do have a strong point in my favor, the sequoia forest, hard to say no to that.

I'm in San Francisco. Marin Headlands are nice, you have Point Rayes to check out. Just get over the Golden gate and head over to Stinson beach, from there go up Hyw 1. Youll want to stop in Bodega Bay and then Mendocino. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I have lived around here all my life

Headed the opposite direction for Christmas (and a bit further on either end) but all the advise on running up and down the coast is spot on. Scenic, relaxing that time of year (much better than dealing with the passes on I5 when winter comes knocking) and easy driving without the scourge of summer motor homes clogging the roads.

Coastal redwoods, wine country, lighthouses, etc...
