What streams are you fishing in N GA. I live in Atlanta and paddle section IV of the chattooga river and always carry mile fishing pole in my boat. Also when I am in western NC paddling. Great fishing between rapids.

Kelly - nice browns man
Jeroen - equally nice steelies

Thanks to my Dad teaching me, I have been fly fishing my whole life - both fresh water and salt. Avid fly tyer and have made a few rods as well. I fish mostly salt water these days for Stripers / Albies / bonito, etc. this past summer's highlight was sight casting for Mahi in 79 degree water offshore here in Mass! In Sept i did a Montana trip, But you dont have to get on a plane, upstate NY has some excellent steelhead / brown / rainbows / salmon fishing in small streams that run out of the great lakes.

I used to fly fish growing up in MO. Always went out with my step dad to Meramec and Bennet springs for trout as well as a lot of the small rivers for small mouth bass and lakes for large mouth bass and stripers near my grandpas place in Texas off of Lake Lewisville. Tied a lot of my own patterns and wrapped a few rods. Been wanting to get back into it as of late as there are plenty of nice places to fish up in the sierras where we go off roading. Got rid of all my fishing gear when i packed up my econobox with all i owned at the time when i was 23 moved to the west coast. Doh..

Check it out, Rufus... Both on the fly, earlier this year! Both firsts for me...

On this subject, I'm considering a flyfishing vacation to New Zealand or maybe Argentina (bucket list type thing). Has anyone on the board ever been to either of these spots or have a guide service recommendation for either place?

Have never been to either, but the sea run browns in Tierra Del Fuego is at the #1 spot on my fishing bucket list.

That is awesome...I'm very jealous. I am going planning on setting aside some time to fish in Ouray before or after the national.
