Great thread guys. I just now saw this and have really enjoyed checking out all your fish. Some amazing photography too. Time doesn't let me get out too often these days but here is a brown I caught in the fall in Montana, don't have many other pics on my phone right now.

Also, thought I would though out another question. do any of you tie your flies, build your rods, etc? Given how industrious this group is it wouldn't surprise me to find out many of you do. For your thoughts I am also submitting some pics of the rods I have build and my newest adventure, the leather fly fishing pack I designed and made (converts into the full pack or just a chest pack).

Nice work, Brent!

I've been tying for a couple months now. Here are a few of my recent ones.

And I even decided to test out tying baitfish flies for trolling on the like with my father.(will see results Sunday)

solid work on those flies. I especially like the midge / pupa patterns. I don't do as much tying these days but used to do a bunch with feathers from my bird hunting trips. I found myself overstocked with flies given how little fishing I was doing. Oh well, maybe this year I can get out some more. One more picture to share on the fishing pack. I designed it so that I could take it apart and make changes as I knew it would take awhile to make exactly what I wanted. I consider it a prototype. I have actually had interest from a couple companies in my design but it is just a hobby for me. I may send one to garden and gun to see what they think though. Here it is unassembled in its many pieces. there is not a single stitch in it so it can be used as a template for future models / designs. Notice the extremely important element on the table that fosters creativity ...

That looks awesome!

Here's a bamboo rod I built a couple of years ago...

Edit: Anyone else catch this on the cover of the Orvis catalog?

Check it out...

That's me on the right in the first pic, and towards the bottom of the article. Pretty neat...

Damn man... too envious of your life. I had a blast with stripers last week off the coast of Mass/Maine. Nothing of size, but they're tons of fun and caught about 70 schoolies in 3 days. Mostly clousers and deceivers, but a guide got me into using his crab fly design, which I've started tying myself.

The fly I tied for them
