Anyone else hear Ford is looking at the JLR V6 Diesel?

This Ford F-150 might have a Land Rover turbodiesel V6

These vehicles have very long development cycles and hence take a long time to separate them post sale of JLR to tata.

Any common platform items are merely an artifact of the previous ownership and platform consolidation efforts by Ford.

The fact that anyone is surprised by any of this surprises me.

Motor Week last night showed a 2016 F150 with the JLR engine in it and said they expected to be arriving mid-year.

I saw this baby Duramax in a Chevy Colorado at the Barrett Jackson auto show but good luck finding a dealership that has one in stock

I saw that engine at the auto show in Detroit a couple of weeks ago. If they ever offer that as a crate engine it would be pretty sweet in a defender I think.

Yup.

That's been out there for a while. It was intended to go in the f150 starting years ago then they discovered Ecoboost.
