Anyone doing GEMS 4.6 with Puma dash/Bulkhead

Has anyone done a 4.6 Gems mated to a Puma dash and Bulkhead? I haven't seen any so am curious what the challenges would be or if it would be a complicated match.
Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I wonder if the cost comparison of a rebuilt 4.6 v used LS swap would be much different in total spend? Right?

I would say the LS would definitely end up costing more. Buying a used LS set up isn't too pricey (depending on condition and amount of miles) but all the conversion parts from Nick add up quick. I haven't done Nicks swap kit but hear the parts alone are in the 6K area. Just say 5K give or take for LS set up used you're looking at 11K+ in parts alone for the LS swap. I know a couple guys scored huge deals on LS drivetrains and installed themselves for cheap but just comparing the two swaps (LS vs. 4.6) I'd have to say the 4.6 is considerably cheaper to complete. Of course there are always so many variables how far someone takes builds so I suppose its all relevant to each persons extent of work and "new" parts used.

Thanks Ron. I'll get up with Stephen next week.
I'm curious how challenging it would be and what all is involved both labor and part wise.

I've driven several Puma dash LS trucks. I'm interested to see the 4.6 with Puma dash and Bulkhead and know more about that process.

The 20 year old ECUís would be a concern for me.

Doing the engine is one thing. Doing the Puma dash upgrade is one thing.

Put them together and it's a thousand things.....

OK, I'm biased here but one thing to consider is that there is a Puma Dashboard kit that integrates all of the existing electrics, heater controls and gauges; plus it fits easily onto any Defender bulkhead from 1983.

Therefore, you can look at the engine / dashboard issues separately without having to worry about how to integrate the electrics and ECU signals to make them work together.

I know this because I make the kit that makes it all easy....
