Exclamation Anybody wanna lend a hand? or opinion?

I have been pursuing another vehicle to use when the Defender just isn't the most practical thing. I had decided that a disco would be kinda cool. I have found an '04 G4 with 38,741 on the clock and the price is right. I think the disco are really cool on a mild lift with the right kit on them and since I'll never a G4 110 defender, this is as close as I may come. Problem is that I was looking at the same truck at a local dealership for alot more money. they wanted 20k for it and were pretty firm. they had the truck awhile and then it was gone. I thought they sold it. Now I see the same truck at a luxury used car dealer. When I google the VIN i see that it looks like the same truck that I saw at the dealer. Thought maybe someone with a carfax account could save me the 25 bucks and help answer the question. PM me for any more info needed.
If I had an account, I would do it for you
P.S. here's a link to the truck. Any opinions would also be welcome and if any of the locals have experience with these guys that would be great.
thanks in advance!

I was wondering if someone could get me a copy of the complete carfax report. What strikes me as odd is that I had a standing offer of 15k with land rover of long island for 15k. They wanted 20k. Then without even seeing if my offer was still on the table they auction off the car and take less money. I assume they took less money cause the new dealer is only asking 15,995. When I saw the same car at the reduced price it just kinda sey off a red flag in my head.

i ran the carfax. it was auctioned. nothing more to see that you dont already know if you put an offer in.

my opinion?
they prolly went to auction hoping to outdo your offer. it was just to low. once there it aint worth a dealer bringing it back so they took high bid. maybe you could get it for the 15k off of the used car guy. give it a whirl. if its the same car its been sitting there for 3 months and hes paying interest on it.

Not sure about a G4 edition, but I do know the Disco market in general has sunk in recent months. I've been checking out some nice low milage '04s on Ebay and they all have buy-it-now prices of around $12K.

I was thinking of offering around 14k. I think it's a rare a vehicle that appeals to me. I wonder if there's any way to tell what it sold for at auction. Is this public knowledge???

Follow-up Post:

really appreciate all the help. especially to Clarence who PM'd me the carfax.!
