It was a collaboration between myself and the creative team at Undone Watches. I wanted to combine elements from several hobbies into this project. Of course it's a watch with a winding/hacking automatic Seiko movement (duh), I had them Cerakote the stainless steel case (guns/knives), create a one-off "muddy" tire tread dial (off-roading) with my truck at 12 o'clock (Rovers), my screen name on the dial (online community involvement), and an Indian Chief's head on the caseback (military service). I think they did a great job with what they had to work with.

Sizable discounts now with their Black Friday sales. Check the clearance deals. Cheaper than you can find on Chrono24.

I don't think you'll see a lot of discounts on the old world prestige brands (Rolex, PP, VC). They'd rather buy back stock and slow down production until the inventory backlog breaks up than discounting and risk cheapening their brand.

Middle to lower tiered offerings from Richemont, Swatch LVMH etc are another story altogether.

All:

I've decided my next watch will be a Rolex 116613...

I've found one just over $10k. Any thoughts on getting the best deal on a new one? Used aren't much cheaper, but I want to be 100% confident it's real!

Cheers,

Paul.

You can't go wrong with David. Here's a link to his website: David SW | Trusted Online Watch Sales Since 2007
I've been dealing with him since he started and have always had incredible service and you'll definitely get exactly what he advertises. His prices and ability to get what you want are top notch!
I have a new Sea-Dweller 4000 coming from him as we speak!

If you haven't already seen it, take a look at the Rolex Forum for some great info: Rolex Forums - Rolex Watch Forum
There are a lot of good quality sellers in their classifieds and they don't tolerate any fakes. You can do a search there and see a lot of good comments for David too.
Good luck with the purchase!

I was just given my first automatic. A modded Seiko SKX 007.
I am saving my money for a Dagaz Tsunami UDT timer , Bonefrog dial. That is if I can find one when the time is right.

Yes. Very happy. Keeps fantastic time and I wear it everyday. I have removed the leather band and went to a run through type band as I am in the water all of the time. Just a little more security.

On the Bonefrog I would love to find one. Keep you eyes open for me and maybe I will have the cash.

Thanks for the link. I'm on Rolex Forums, seems like they really know their stuff. One question though- I'm seeing the 116613 listed occasionally with 'LB' after the numbers. Any idea what that means?

Yeah, it's crazy what some of the guys on there know about these watches! Reminds me of LR owners! I'm not sure but there are 2 types of 116613 and that might be a reference showing that. The first ones had the brighter solid color (many refer to as "Smurf") on the face and the more recent one has the "Starburst" in the blue face and is slightly darker. Personally I like the earlier one best, but it seems like most people are favoring the newest.

It's an ancient Chinese secret...

LB = Lunette Bleu = Blue Bezel

LN = Lunette Nior = Black Bezel

LV = Lunette Vert = Green Bezel

Sea Dweller 4000

I had wanted one of these for a while, so I finally bit the bullet and it arrived today! Couldn't be happier with the choice so far!
