My Airwolf Raven. Reminds me of my helicopter flying days, and the theme song to Airwolf the TV show which probably influenced my becoming a pilot.

Has a modern tag ever gone up in value? Sharp watch though.

That was my argument with the wife....shhhhhhhhh!!!

I like the retro look of it...the band is leather and has the holes in it reminiscent of the good ol days and the logo's on it are all HEUER without "Tag"

I added a couple to my collection over the holidays. Actually equally excited about both of these. Beautiful and extremely hard to find MKii Paradive and a very classic Rolex (my first!)

I love the vintage Carreras. I've been on the lookout for a ref. 2447 nst for awhile now.

My every day watch..

I inherited my father's 1979 Sea-Dweller. He wore it every day and did wear it as a recreational diver. I wear it every day and I wore it while working as a divemaster in Grand Cayman. It has been quite reliable although it has been in to be repaired 3 or 4 times in its lifetime.

62ish datejust in 18k. I have the original jubilee gold band but it is stretched and needs a trip to Michael Young to be restored. It is fine to wear, but I never wear the watch anyway and thought I might like it on a NATO.

Swiss only dial. Not sure about the hands, the red may not be original so if anyone knows please let me know.

Nice patina. Love the vintage sea dweller. Hard to believe it's only been serviced 3 times in 35 years!

Too bad it lost its original bezel, hands, and date wheel but the dial is lovely. Next time it goes it make sure they do not polish it.

Honestly, not much outside is original. The bezel, face, hands, band, and plastic crystal have all been replaced over the years. I suppose that reduces the value for a collector, but as a functional daily worn timepiece it works great and will outlast me and that's what I want it for. I could never sell it so value is of no concern in this case other than for insurance purposes.

Sort of like my Defenders. They would be worth a lot more if I never drove them, but I bought them to use them like they were intended, not as an investment.

:-)

Hands were obvious. How could you see the date wheel was replaced?

Love the older domed crystals.

Great watch and super easy to make more valuable. Not hard to get the correct hands, bezel, etc.

I suppose it is possible it is original and to be sure I would need to see the numbers, but the color looks like the new replacements.

Pretty cool. Back in 2008 or 2009 I'd tried to help my aunt sell a LeCoultre pocket watch they'd recovered from their personal assistant who'd been embezzling from them for years. It was probably the worst time to try to sell it.

Awesome story. Needle in the haystack! It's good to keep your eyes open and fun to find something of value amongst things that aren't.

Of topic: My guilty pleasure are pennies. Almost completely worthless by all accounts until you find a double stamp, a close "AM," or a '43. Others are even more unlikely. I check out everyone I see. Even found a solid copper '43 and a close AM once.
