Yes indeed. It was purchased brand new in August 1962 in Switzerland.

Awesome. My dad wore the Speedmaster or Seamaster almost daily until he was about 80-82. Most often he wore the Seamaster. He'll be 87 this summer.

Has anyone considered a Seiko from their Grand Seiko line? I stopped wearing my Rolexes and Pateks a while ago a bought several Grand Seikos including their diver and Hi Beat for everyday wear.

The finish and movements are very refined. In fact the diver has a unique Spring Drive movement. The Hi beat has a 36,000 bph movement.

I believe historically, only recent as they were made only since the 1960s, they very early on beat out the Swiss movements in the international competitions so the contests were only limited to Swiss companies from then on.

The designs could be considered staid and unimaginative but like my Defender and other icons, simplicity and function makes them classic.

Here is my Spring Drive Grand Seiko Diver.

Yeah and definitely not for someone like Jason who wears his watch on his right arm.

Haha, yes on the bad tan lines. The lever would only be a problem if you wore it on your right arm.
