Any Soft Top D90's in the LA / Ventura County Area?

Hello,
This is Stephen with landroversforsale.com in Birmingham, AL and I need someone's help. After years and years of spending hours upon hours trying to fit factory Land Rover soft tops to Defenders, we have finally decided to start manufacturing our own soft tops (they will be called 'TreeTops' and they will debut in the Spring of '10). The shop that is manufacturing the soft tops is in the LA/ Ventura County area and they need a vehicle that they can test fit the prototype soft tops with. The vehicle would recieve a FREE soft top for the use of a vehicle. If anyone is interested, they can contact me via email at defender90s@yahoo.com or via phone at 205-821-2497. Thanks.

What will be different about them as opposed to what's currently available? Are they going to be vinyl or something? Slightly different design? I'm not in LA of course, just curious.

They will be slightly different from anything out there and they will be available in both a vinyl and a cloth material. Yes, they will feature a few "twists" that are unique to only our tops (we will have a full spread about the soft tops on our website in January). We will sell them, but our primary focus will be the ability to fit each one of our vehicles with a quality, cost effective soft top. There's nothing more frustrating that spending a few hours fitting a shrunken soft top, only to have it rip. Best case scenario, you get it fitted and then you never want to remove the top or windows in fear that you'll never get it fitted again. Our goal is to have a top that can be fitted or removed in less than 5 minutes.

How many hours do you think you'll need the vehicle for? I am in the northern LA area (Tarzana/Woodland Hills area) not too far from the Ventura county border. I might be interested.

Interesting. I talked to the guy from the soft top company in Ventura and helped them get some of the kinks out of what they wanted to do (copy a tickford) and I thought they were using my truck. That was what they said as of last week. Do they need more trucks?

I am unsure of the exact timeframe, but I think that they will need it for a few days next week, maybe longer and maybe multiple visits. I already have over a half dozen replies since my posting, so I think that I have what was needed. If those fall through, I'll re-post. Thanks D-90.com!

Barry, I am guessing that they need a vehicle that is fitted with a belt rail kit. Since your info lists a '94, I am assuming that you have the original snaps?

You can take my soft top D90 if ya want. I have 2 ST's you can choose from as well, a 94 or 97. I have the fiberglass roof on but it comes off pretty easy.
