Any other VW Tdi owners here?

I sold out and bought a VW sportwagon diesel. I wanted white so I could call it an appliance, but grey is what they had so that is what I got. I plan to do nothing other than fit front snow tires.

I've had many, hit/miss sometimes but mostly great cars..... fit snows on all four wheels unless you like sliding around backwards and into the ditch ass first.

Pretty impressive. I have to assume its locked front/center/rear given how much time it spends with wheels in the air (gotta love IFS/IRS), but I doubt a Defender would do that so eloquently unless it was locked front and rear as well (and even then I think we'd need the advantages of the 110's wheel base for those particular obstacles)..

Wife traded in 07 Range Rover for 2010 VW Touareg TDI. Sweet truck - awesome engine. I steal it as often as I can. Mark

Not for looking cool and tough

2001 VW Jetta GLS TDI with >200K miles. Was my wife's since she turned 16 and now after we got her the GX it serves as a great long distance/shuttle vehicle with racks for the kayaks and bikes and 50mpg (43 with the stuff on top) and a daily driver for me. However, without the racks on it, it is a Jetta and let's just say people don't give me the same looks as they do when I'm in the D-90, even in camo it just doesn't exude masculinity. But if they are taken care of they can go north of 500K we had a friend with one break 400K last year and no problems. But hit or miss with VW some dont make 100K.

What kills them before 100k? I know the gassers can be crap.

I took my first real drive in it to work today (I did not bother to test drive it on the grounds that I would hate it and spend all night swapping the t-case in my D90) and it is quite nice. Quiet, smooth ride, plenty of power (I have not pushed it and won't until it gets broken in) and the interior is better quality than a honda or toyota.

Someone should put the VW common rail tdi motor in a D90. It is really quite nice.

Barry actually used to own a VW that he and his girl friends would cruise around town in. I heard they flirted with all the guys.
