Any fly fishermen out there?

Heading on a moto trip to patagonia for a couple weeks later this year, and was hoping to pick up a travel fly rod that would be easy to carry. Was trying to pick up a March Brown, but they don't seem to be in business anymore as their website hadn't been updated in years. looking for a 8'-9' 4-6 weight

Thought i'd throw it out there to see if anyone on the board had any suggestions. Thanks in advance

Just doing my part to make sure 95% of the content on this site is 1) people repeating what others have said and 2) people pointing that out.

Feel free to delete this thread, Josh, and ill post in the "appropriate" place.

I've converted to mostly orvis at this point, just picked up one of their new recon series too.

How compact do you need? Orvis offers a 7 piece frequent flier rod that packs down to around a foot and a half. But if you can fit it, I'd definitely suggest a 9ft 4 piece.

Redington, sage, orvis, Allen, etc, all make some very nice high end rods.

How long are you going and when? If it's late enough in the year and only for a couple of weeks, maybe we can work something out with my 9ft 5wt orvis access.

I fish a 4 piece Sage 6-wt that would pack just fine on a trip like that.

Thanks Zack!

Going to be there for 3/4 weeks in Nov-Dec. Camping about half the trip, so keeping gear as compact as possible on the bikes as i'll only be able to fish sporadically and need room for camping gear, bike tools, etc. Had a dream to bring the paraglider too, but there's just no way

I really appreciate the comments and the offer on the rod. Will probably go ahead and buy a rod as i plan to start doing more moto camping/fishing trips this summer, and whats another couple hundred bucks on a trip that costs more than my first car?

Best regards,
-B
