Any backyard beekeepers out there?

I got a few Christmas gifts this year and I am looking forward to some backyard beekeeping.

This qualifies as the most random defendersource.com thread ever. Is there a prize for that?

Bill, go to BrushyMountain.com
They have a starter kit which comes with a beginner book. I have been advised to find a local course to take before diving in. It should only take about 10 hours a year.

That site is a Baptist church in Wilkesboro, NC 28697, although I am Baptist.....I think you meant, http://www.bushfarms.com/beesnewbees.htm or https://www.brushymountainbeefarm.co...hatyouneed.asp

Sorry hombre, I disagree. Guns, marshal arts, chicks and Betty White are all less random and more fitting for this forum. The last one about moving furniture with a skateboard was a contender up until it ended with an anecdote about being poolside in Cancun with topless women.

I'm not saying bees are silly or inappropriate, I'm just saying it's pretty damn random for a Land Rover forum. Here, let me fix this thread

Home-grown self-sufficiency is really popular in a lot of places right now. It's right up there with reloading, hunting, homebrewing, canning/pickling, and backyard gardens. Our neighbor raises chickens and is going to start her own hive. I've been wanting a chicken coop for some time and we're finally in a house where we can do it. Maybe after I get the motor swap completed and the compost bin built.

Very cool. My grandfather kept bees and I have always wanted to do it. I need to make more time for the forums - I don't recognize most if the "strange" threads referenced!

Guarantee she was a local hottie hired to work/lure people into the booth @ the trade show by Aimpoint and not an actual employee. Been there done that in a former life.
