This is just awful, poor guy.

More than a dozen of the 2014 style models have been stolen out of owners' driveways/garages...all of them were purchased from the same dealer in Long Island and the thieves just took the cars with duplicate keys (and probably remotes) they had made up from the vin numbers.

A former colleague and her husband experienced an attempted carjacking of their RRSS from their driveway a few years ago in Hoboken. He was shot in the shoulder and she was struck in the face with a baseball bat. Broke her jaw in four places. Both okay now. The perps got startled and ran off.

Absolutely senseless. Really have to keep on your game when out and about. Fucking animals deserve to be shot. Their disregard for life astounds me and they have proven to be not worth society's protection.

So after being so upset by the senselessness of this killing, we had a bad week at work. My old manager (she still works for our company) is only a couple of years older than I am and her husband was killed last weekend while walking home from his friend's place. The robbery was apparently over his jacket; when he took it off he was stabbed twice in the back, and was then also robbed of his phone and wallet while he was down on the sidewalk. By the time anyone had noticed, he had already passed. He was 37. They just got married about two years ago and they didn't even go on a honeymoon so that they could save money for their kids. They have a young son together and he had a daughter from a previous relationship who was also in their custody.

Over a jacket.

Brooklyn. They always lived in the same neighborhood. They had just moved to a new place last year and he was killed while walking past the building they had just moved from. He was just 2 blocks from home.

I am very sorry to hear that Josh. Thoughts and prayers to your friend and her family (poor kids ).

I just had an email feed from Trove last week (or the week before) that said there was a ring of thugs robbing people in Brooklyn bars.

As if that wasn't bad enough, they said they were entitled to it as they were poor and these new rich people were in their neighborhood. The thieves were saying they were acting like Robin Hood - scumbags. I think this is what I read: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/travel/de...oklyn-bar.html

Not sure if it is related but, man, shit is f&&ked up with these senseless killings.

Yet, NYC has an enviably low murder rate and most victims know their murderer. Kudos to the tag team of Giuliani and Bloomberg. I'm not sure about this new administration. On paper the future doesn't look bright. Hoping it is.
