????

Follow-up Post:

Ok, figured it out.

Let that be a lesson to you all. If you want to smuggle in a 110, try any color other than orange.

George has a G4 110 that was conviscated upon entry into the country. He is accepting bids on on the body. SO buyer beware when someone says that they can get you a late model D110 into the country with no problems! Some poor bastard just lost a nice rig.

Be a nice project.

Your admonition is rather meaningless without reference to the grammatical errors in question. Which sentence are you whining about?

Anyone have the pics from the G4 body auction? I get on there now and all I see is the frame and axles ready to be auctioned off.

I wonder if the original owner tried the VIN swap route with a 60's or 70's vintage series model. The G4 would have been a bad candidate for that trick.

The trucks came from several different ports throughout the country. Mostly the eastern seaboard. The G4 owner was fined 115k. For that truck alone. Apperently a group of folks decided that they could circumvent the law and make a quick buck on ebay. The trucks were shipped in stealth behind wooden crates and styro to mask their ID's.

So hey, anyone willing to take that recent offer up, just have a check for $115,000 USD for fines and penalties and be willing to buy the truck back at an additional cost....

First off, morons.
Second, I still do not understand why no one takes a legal 25 year old set of wheels, huumm, that would be 2005 model - 25yrs = 1980 model (thats the "new" math) which, when looking at the January 2005 edition of Land Rover monthly page 180- 181 is up to a series III. The station wagon V8, 1980 model tops at 4500 sterling, or $ 7,200. Then, deck it out in the UK - this site can help with vendors spend up to, what 200%? Thats $14,400. Now you get to go for the shipping, insurances, and any duties needed on the thing and $10,000 - I have no idea but a 1/2 container is not that much. I shipped 1/2 container of furniture for under 10k. So for $31,600 you should be able to import a 100% rebuilt reconditioned Series III. And in 4 yrs, the 90/110 come up to 25yrs old!

OK all, tear this apart - what am I missing??
