Am I under pricing my '94 D90? HELP

I have a green '94 D90 that I'm thinking of selling and have it advertised for $24k - firm. It does have some rust on the doors (which are replaceable) and average amount elsewhere. Hence, the price. It has about 95k miles. Soft top with bikini top but fiberglass top went in the trash years ago. The truck runs great and I've had a lot of work done. Safari Gard front/rear bull and skid plate, line X sprayed in bed. Wing protectors, custom sound, new trans.

I make a point to drive it once a week but beyond that never. I need advice on whether or not to sell. Is it gonna command an asking price of $50k 10 yrs from no? A buyer is wanting to take it for pre inspection purchase next week. My mechanic advises not to sell as I will regret. 1 mechanical issue it has is does not have a current emission pass and I've never diagnosed why. I think the cat may need replacing but not sure. Other Defs are selling for much more without rust and many have suspicious odometers. Mine is legit but perhaps I should take it off market. Thanks in advance for all the help!

Why don't you post a link to where it's for sale where there, presumably are pictures

Define "average amount" of rust. Without pictures, that doesn't mean much. Stuff like "custom sound" is usually a value detractor because, so often, that means hackjob stereo installation by the parolees down at Kustom AutoSoundz.

Post detailed photos and you'll get a lot of opinions.

Viewable on "Autotrader". Stereo install was done at ABT electronics near Chicago. Paid about $4k - system pounds but custom boxes built for subs are a little big. Professional install nevertheless. Tanks

Just post a link. No one wants to go looking all around for it I'm sure.

I found your ad, but you don't have enough pictures to judge the rust - need to photograph the bulkhead, footwells, bottoms of doors, and many more of the frame underneath.

Other than the hideous speaker boxes, looks like a nice truck. I'm thinking you're about $4k over what someone would pay.

You say it doesn't have a current emission pass - I'm curious to why you mention that given 94s don't need emissions in IL - do you mean 'check engine' light is on.

GLWS.

Registered to a house I have in Indiana. In "steel mill region" - emissions needed. As if the output of my 90 makes a difference in ozome

I've owned my Rover for about 10 yrs. Since advertising many people have asked for additional pictures. Undercarriage is about 5/10. Just wondering opinions if based on what I've said and u can see on Autotrader if $24k is selling myself short. I think the guy wants to close the real next week

Seller's Description and Comments
Every step has been taken to keep this D90 in good shape since owned by me (about 8 yrs as I'm 2nd owner). About 6 yrs ago I took off roll cage and sandblasted/powdercoated. Some rust has returned. Front and rear bull bar replaced with Safari Gard, stainless steel hardware kit installed. Borla exhaust (sounds awesome) not too loud but throaty. Mickey Thompson mudders with about 5k miles - roll great on road and quiet. PIAA fog/hi beam lights x 2 on front. $5k profesionally installed satellite stereo system. JL subs and Alpine amps. Bed painstakingly sprayed with Line X coating. Authentic sheepskin seat covers, authentic LR wing protectors powdercoated black. Quick release bolts for windows and carrying case. Soft top, bikini top and bimini cover - yrs ago I threw away fiberglass top as I took it off and didn't want to store it and difficult to put back on. There is a scratch on pass door as someone thought I took their parking spot and subsequently got angry - pictures try to depict scratch and slight rust

I think if someone offers you 24k, you should take it and run. I don't think you will get that price. I hope you do though. Just keep it, fix the rust, and enjoy the shit out of it.

I could also be way off too.

I think 24K is a good start point for your D90. If you put 3K into it you could very well ask 30 or 32K for it...the XMember isn't gone but its going quick. If this were mine I'd spent 3K doing a XMember and get that surface rust cleaned up and detail the crap out of it. I've seen ALOT worse for ALOT more. Maybe spend a little more and do an internal Waxhol....but then you might as well keep it. Without seeing more detailed photos...it looks like a keeper. IMO (plus its the ultra rare Green ST...lol) Good Luck.

I remember asking about this 90 when I was looking. Seller said it was off the market. Looks clean but 10 pics of the under body would help someone make a decision.

It's been on/off market. I'm all torn up inside - that's why I turn to forum for help. If I remember, there were a couple realtors around Denver who wanted to buy for a song. I said "price not negotiable" and never heard back.

Your truck is worth whatever the ASS that will seat inside is willing to pay, not what you think it is worth, all you have is the power to say YES or NO, but ZERO control on the value.

People have paid lot more money for a lesser truck than your's ( first impression ) , of course what are usually called uneducated emotional buyers.

On the same token, People have paid a lot less money for superior trucks than your's , of course what are usually called educated emotionless buyers.

No matter what we tell you, ( half will say it is worth 6,000 more while the other half will tell you you are overpriced by 6,000.

Ask yourself if the 24,000 this guy is willing to pay you will satisfy your needs ( whatever they are ).

Definitely remove that stereo. That stereo says "ghetto" and when I think of the ghetto, I think of cars that never get oil changes or regular maintenance because the owner cares more about bass, sneakers, and mouth grills than rust prevention and oil cooler lines.

I realize that this may not be you at all...but that's what giant subwoofers and amps say to a lot of guys with the means to spend $24K on a twenty year-old truck.

Agree it looks ghetto with the subs. And I do t feel likes need changing unless signs indicate. But oil changes are done routinely and bass in face is good - IMO
