If the truck came over in parts why would you put the engine in only to pull it out again. Not sure what your game is with these posts but you know it is super easy to check ISPs and figure out where your coming from. I know they traces megamat to Maine for what it's worth.

That is a very nice babbling brook - it is definitely the one he's referencing.

Yeah, not sure either. He's already been caught in a few lies and the thread is only an hour old...

Tough crowd in here but I've got thick skin. I can take the babbling brook jab but leave the Rover out of it.

OOoops, my bad. 427 is based on the 351 block, so yup, it'll fit just dandy. My aging brain forget all my Ford 101. Same engine Carroll Shelby put in the Cobra. Whiz bang. Now if you were to put a Vortech and nitrous on that, you should see numbers in the 900s and well into the 700s for torque.

I better call my mechanic and get to the bottom of this. Maybe a 302 would be more practical. I wonder if a PTO for my garden implements would be feasible as well. I really want to make a multi-tasker out of the Mighty Defender platform.

Of course its needs to be out board, how else would you be able to run cut outs on the exhaust?
If it's just for slogging out to the mailbox as he says, then I'd just run it with stubbies.

These Vermont winters a murder. Not only do i have to go 1 mile on my dirt/gravel/snow/ice driveway to get to my mailbox but my Company HQ is 12 miles away.

You need a Series 2 109 that has a PTO hole out the rear. Put a 302 EFI in it like TeriAnn did and a hydraulic system to drive a rear mount 13 spline pto shaft. The Hydraulics can run a bolt on 3 point hitch and then you can plow, mow, whatever.

You lost me at "series 2." Is that a discontinued model because I can't find it on the LandRover site. Oh, and who's Teri Ann, and how could I contact her.

Funny I just got a friend request from Richard.

I should stick to mocking Neil and Horsey.

Surely. My employees call me "Dick." My friends and family call me Rich. You can call me Rich. Thanks for the input guys! Just got off the phone with Andrew, my grease monkey and he thinks a crate 302 would be a good compromise. Didn't seem too enthused about the PTO though. He was like "Rich, just buy 2 of em. I know you have the funds you gosh darn cheapskate!" "Get a TDI for the heavy lifting, and keep the 302 for grocery getting."

Sage advice from such a simple little man.
