Take the high road fellas. There's no sense in digging a bottomless hole. We know there are some solid Jeep guys running out there.

I don't see why anyone has to talk shit about someone because their truck has a certain logo on... that's all I was getting at. Maybe your response is why people label rover owners as douches. Think about it. Its a fucking TV SHOW.

Maybe your response is why you are both the asshole, and the douche.

OK OK guys. Let's get back to the regularly scheduled discussion about the mullet and the bulldog. Adam didn't say it was his opinion and because he's a newb here we're all getting a little defensive. Adam in case it wasn't clear we don't care what people say over on other forums, especially ones with differing opinions from our own here.

Like it's been said, I'm not all that concerned about it. I caught hell on trails for running an Isuzu and still pulled jeeps and toyotas out after. Did the same in my 90 (and hope for the same in my Classic). If being a typical rover douche means breaking your own rig while recovering another truck, regardless of badge on the grill, and letting a competitor ride shotgun to do it then I'd say the moniker fits most, if not all on this forum.

Jason called the group out on tearing up the trails, and that's all. He didn't call names, didn't wish anyone else to breakdown, just wanted to be first in. He also ran the closest to stock rig and took the oil cooler break like all of us that have had that happen did (with a string of expletives and a stiff upper lip).

I'll keep watching for 3 reasons:
1. To support Jason. He may be off the show, but he's still a part of it. Ed as well.
2. I want to see another Rover come to the trails and the hints on this thread seem like that could be the case.
3. To help make the case for Season 2!

I think I'll like it here.

Anyway, if you guys want to check out the Pirate thread there is a lot of info on the show there. Carl posts a lot of "inside info" on what happened and how the show was made.. much like what Jason did here a few pages back.

Wait. Royalty would say "We Land Rover owners" instead of "Us land rover owners". Unless we are the peasants?

Yeah… shut your hole newb! From Sir 35 posts…..

Back on track….. I've only caught the first episode. Found it entertaining for the most part. Probably will binge watch when more are released.

Correct, and don't forget there are plenty of asshole LR drivers as well.

From my local offroad club I could have assembled 2 or more vehicles of each brand represented in this show that would outshine these guys in every respect. As well as other brands.

Yes you could have , and so could most off-road clubs . This state is full of better built rigs but this show didn't want that . They wanted characters first vehicles second .,and for the record there is no Alaska Offroad warriors club .
So they picked mullet man over skilled off-roaders .

Yup I get it. The point is there is no need to go bad mouthing other brands or their drivers.

The mullet boy head bump was rather disappointing btw. Still watching and hoping we see another rover in the mix, but this weeks show was the worst so far.

This week was driving through mud on some old roads. I suppose it is the public's perception of off roading, but any real off roader I know avoids this at all cost. It is also the sort of thing that gives our hobby a bad image.

There is just soooo many inconsistencies in the filming or editing process... In the first bog where SUPERHEAP is stuck (yet again) they are in deep water. Then as everyone goes around them it's dry..????.. And then as they take off they have their winch cable dragging behind them. And then later on half way through the show you see the exact same footage with the cable dragging in the centre of the truck.... And then when they are using the ramps they have them out one second and then they are back on the hood and then they are back off... It's freaking annoying.. And the more you see wrong the more you see wrong..front window closed one second.. Next frame open, next frame closed.. And it's not just with SUPERHEAP ..editing sucks ... And i won't even get into the piss poor knock out acting...he wants to go home to mummy in the end...so much for tough Alaskans..
Ahhhhhh, rant over....lol...

I'm still wondering why when they were under Rover 1 when the drive shaft was broken, you could see leaf springs in the rear. Was I the only one to notice that, and think WTF, that couldn't be Rover 1.

They took a clip from a later part of the show and put it in the wrong place......
