I went one step further and installed some trick custom covers since I had my axles out.

From where the footage shows that I stopped driving we were not far from a road. Got it to the road and gave my fellow racers a stiff wag of the finger as a reminder they could very well be next.

My bad, it was $73.32 shipped for two. Still cheaper than any bolt on I've seen.

That's what I wanted to know, if it helped or was pretty much worthless.

Mine still has it, but most of the diff guards seem to be built for universal fit, so when I install mine, there will be a D1 style steering stabilizer mount in the way of bolting that back on.

Thanks!

I'm wondering what the copilot is supposed to be doing if not spotting the vehicle over obstacles, in hopes of preventing such damage? Are they supposed to stay in the vehicle? Did you just not see the whatever ate the tie rod?

Too true...though Uncle Doug driving style = Jason/Rover1 driving style is also true.
I don't think Auntie Rover was intending those things to help with impacts at "speed" so much as the occasion where you need deliberately put the diff over a high spot in order to gently bump over something that you can't get around.

I've got one of these, though it's currently just bouncing around the back of the truck waiting to become a projectile:

My truck had one of those brackets but it was bent by a rock (which also bent my tie rod). I say bent, but it was actually "peeled open".

I removed the bracket and haven't missed it.

I've had mine on for almost 10 years. In those 10 years, its pretty much been packed full of mud. The good news is once its packed with mud, no more mud can get packed into it . Recently I did clean it out. So I'll need to go through a few more mud holes to fix that.

Its fine. Works great too as it has a bunch of scars on it. The sewer cap is super nice but that weld on was done in no time.

When I got it, it replaced a clamp-on style diff guard which I felt was pretty useless. Looked good but one hit and it bails out on you. Weld on was about the same price and no more wondering if my diff guard was going to fall off. Good times.

Co pilot is there to say...go super heap , go faster, go slower, turn left..go super heap..take it easy, floor it, turn right, not there, goooo super heap..yay...super heap... And then of course there's the 2 brothers, I think the copilot has a crush on his brother... And then when he's driving its..woohoo, see that that was awesome, I changed gears, that was sooo intense..I use the clutch,,, yeah brother....man, my brothers just the best.....and then of course there is mr mullet head...what a moron with his so called fear of heights, guy needs his man card revoked... And then there's the brother suck up to his sister, seriously, letting the woman do all the driving..???.. It seems like Jason and his copilot are the only ones that don't have the over abundance of ridiculous drama in their dealings with each other...well except for the ...I can't breathe outburst.... The rolling of the eyes on Jason when his co pilot did that was freaking priceless , cracked me up... And in one section of the camera on shay when she was driving it looks like she flicks her cigarette out the window,...

Yes, and I cruised thru the I8Mud boys to see what pearls I could find there. Surprisingly light on their threads, multiple different ones, with only 5-10 posts on each. Best one I saw was the coment that the two brothers in the 1st gen 4runner looked like they cooked more meth, then drove off rode!
