Advertising Themes and Backgrounds: Which Adds Most Value?

I'll have to update this with pics (feel free to help) but I've seen a ton of vehicle ads in different locations and with various themes. Which theme or background has added the highest perceived value to a vehicle for you? This is pure production-added value here, not useful stuff like rust/condition photos. Take for example the classic airplane hangar backdrop - does it make you want to spend that 50% premium?

-Airplane Hangar - they have a helicopter so this thing must be worth more than other RHD Tithonus

-Country Estate - mansion or stables in background

-Country Estate - winding driveway

-Country Singer - Ronnie Milsap

-Safari - maybe like a guy with binoculars standing in the truck?

-Soldiers in the woods driving Tithonus

-Cobblestone

-Grass

-Photo Studio - Luxsport

I like country estate... If I see a nice house in the background it makes me think someone has put forth the effort to maintain the vehicle.

I always took pictures of cars for sale in front of my parent's house. Taking pics of a car parallel parked on a city street do no look as good as pictures taken in front of a large house in suburbia. I probably wouldn't even bother calling on a car where the pictures look like they have been staged.

I agree with the last part, I like for the pictures to appear to be in front of the owners house, and not some mansion that they had access to.

Because people put a lot of freaking effort into staging perceived wealth or action situations - just seeing if anyone actually places any value on it as a buyer.

So what I'm hearing is that everyone that is slapping Joshs post only drives their D90 because it's an outstanding, capable vehicle and "Image" or even "Self Image" has nothing to do with it...

Parked on a Nantucket beach with 10 surf stickers on the rear cross about the worst you can do. No amount of ECR $ can remove that cancer.

From the different car shows I watch it is always better to snap pics with pleasant scenery in the background. Nice open ground with clear skies, nice house on a culdesac will do as well. What you are trying to do is getting the buyer to see themselves in the car or truck. Because then they can also see it parked in their driveway or street and think happy "nice day to drive" thoughts.

You're talking about marketing. Isn't that all about pushing a fantasy or an idea? Who your target audience is would determine the 'fantasy' or theme and background. People who'd like to see themselves as rugged or adventurous...do a photo with expanses of terrain. People who view their vehicle as a status symbol...in front of a mansion. People who hope their vehicle will attract women...put a model with it. Do all three and you'll have all your bases covered. A mansion in a valley surrounded by mountains with a chick leaning against it.
