A quick education on Rostyle wheels

I had a few people informing me that the wheels on my car are not standard. On the ROW 90 this is a standard wheel as can be seen in the illustration. Not a rare wheel anywhere else. It is standard on CSW's. An enthusiasts wheel it may be back in the States but completely normal elsewhere. Mine were white and I just gave them a lick of paint.

Warning...incoming opinion...

For what is worth, I just don't dig them except on Rangie Classics. I think there is a small subset of people that like them, like Les and O2batsea. Among others I've chatted with.

Aesthetically they look like crap on a vehicle that is otherwise decked out to look like one of LR's newer blinged-out models that looks like it's designed to appeal to Eastern European Chavs.

They would look better if the rest of the vehicle adhered to the same aesthetic theme. But, it doesn't.

And just because LR offered them on 90s and 110s, doesn't mean they look good. They made some pretty odd design decisions back in those days.

But, what do I know. I only have a fine arts degree and design things for a living. There's an ass for every seat/wheel/tire/sticker combo.

No art degree but certainly opinionated. D1 steelies suck.

I don't like them because you need to remove the wheel to get the halfshaft out.... The nice thing about putting these wheel or alloys on your truck helps everyone know you are a mall crawler.

I feel like we are doing somebody else's homework with all of donkey's posts. Eventually he will be importing trucks to the U.S. and sell them for a healthy profit to the very people who told him how to do it and didn't charge him a dime.

hence my reservoir dogs response the other day. It's just a waste of time, go to ebay, click sold, see what is selling. Rostyles are dated on defenders IMO but the poster is justifying it because it was factory on a defender?

I mean yes, I think some trucks that are original look decent with them, but if you're going to modernize the truck go find some boosts or even steel wheels

On a RRC, they can look okay. Really out of place on a Defender.

Agree - although I would love them more if they had an inch added to the outside edge (increase the offset and width)

Not my most favourite wheel either except when on a 2 door 70's Range Rover. You work with what you have. I did not expect so many haters of a wheel. I have normal Black steels on a 110 with BF Goodrich AT's on. I would have put those on if I had known the Rostyle was such a hated wheel.

Maybe i'm missing something but not seeing Rostyle's on that.
At the end of the day everyone has different tastes. Who cares? It would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing.
