I actually bought that series of 94 D90 when they first came out.

It was called Beluga Black and as others have said was limited edition to 100 and had front AND rear bench in leather.

Otherwise everything else was an option. I had regular front wrap around bar and regular steps and also had AC. I didn't like the "bling" of the stainless options as they were to bright (like chrome).

Why would the surrey top have cut outs to replicate the alpine windows?

In SA, the Defenders did have BMW motors for a while. I think I can still get the parts to put together an R380 to go behind a BMW straight six.....If someone was of a mind to build one, anyway.....
