94 CG with 26k miles on ebay in NJ

I came across this listing on ebay the other day, and test drove it this evening.
Nice truck. 26k miles. Conniston Green. looks to be in decent shape (to me- a rookie).
Could do with a bit of a scrape down in one or two places with wire brush for some little bits of surface rust on front bumper, and rear door, but rear x-member etc, gas skid plate looks fine. Doors and footwell are fine as well. They did a nice job cleaning it up. I couldn't tell if it was R380 tranny or not. I also couldn't tell if it was best-top or tickford top. Drove fine. Interior looked clean enough. Tear on seat. No radio. No rear seats. Bicycle rack + bikini top, I believe.
Carfax has it at 10k for 1st year, then 9k for next 3 years, then 3k next 3 years, and 4k next 5 years. Looks like it sat or did little for a while. From CT originally.
Guy selling it, Dave, at prestige motors, is a nice guy. He forgot the delaer plate though, so we had to go back and get it
They are asking $39k
With wiggle room
If i wanted to spend this sort of money though, copley has a 95 portofino st listed at $29.8k with only 10k more miles (36k miles) !

If you want it as a collector truck, it sure has nice mileage. But for that kind of dough, you could build one sick machine. Personally, I would buy one for around 20K and fix it up.

No I'm not looking for collector. Just driving as many as I see locally before I buy.
And you're right about building a sick puppy for that sort of chunk of change.
