90/130 on BAT

Did I miss something? How has this not been discussed? I always love trucks that are carefully restored around the brake tower.

Nice new galvanized frame. Just to make sure the chassis VIN can't be found? It will be interesting to see where the price goes.

I’ve been following this one. I don’t think I’ve had a Land Rover that didn’t have some modifications, but this one is a true frankenrover. That said, the seller has been very upfront. It’s the comment clowns creating most of the conflict.

as if anything coming out of ECD, Safari etc etc bear any resemblance to where they started.

Thanks for bids and interest and comments all around. We had done a significant amount of due diligence on the truck before it being offered and had no hurdles about moving forward. However, the latter post in regard to World Famous having advertised the truck as being registered as a 2007 D130 gave us pause to want to dig deeper to any additional DMV history that could prevent a buyer having a less than great experience or missing any info. I am not sure the WF info is meaningful or just phrasing of an Instagram post, but I am not convinced I will have an answer before the auction ends. Regretfully, I asked BaT to remove the auction, to allow some more digging. I understand that this truck can run an interesting line for some, and want to make sure I can fully stand on a side that works for everyone before the sale goes any further. Thanks for the understanding, bids, comments and fun!
So the seller has no clue to the actual history of the truck? Sure.

It was clearly a VIN swap. Nice clean, new frame. Body was dirty and had not been apart or assembled in recent times. The only old part on it was the brake pedal tower.

It's a bummer, usually this guy is a straight shooter with the stuff he sells on there. Eye opening he either tried to get one over or didn't know what was up

Lol over the last section.

“The truck is titled and registered in California as a Defender 90, though little of its original form is said to remain. The seller points out that no California emissions testing is required due to the diesel powerplant. A VIN tag remains riveted onto the bolted-on brake booster bracket and is said to match the VIN on the title. Prior service records are unavailable.”
