5-Door 110 ST Conversion

Question: Can a 5-Door 110 rear tub be "simply" modified for a tailgate?

The hard part is finding a lift gate.

That is a tailgate. They are easy to find as they are still sold new. I'm talking about the lift gate. The piece above the tailgate.

Lift gate were never sold with Defenders so have not been made since series were in production. Tail gates are sold on pickup defenders.

Swing-away Tailgate?

easily done, conversion kits are available in the UK

All you need is the hinges, the ones I've seen still lock with the pin on the opening side

POE models had lift gates, albeit mighty few of them made.
I have a very nice Series lift gate as well as a NIB fiberglass one from the removable hardtops if anyone is in need.

What the heck is a POE Defender?

I've always wondered why someone does not make an aftermarket one. Nice big window. Good latch. Gas lift. Would be easy enough to do. The stock ones kind of sick with the little window.

They built like 50 'Port of Entry' Defenders in '94, green with white hardtop. Only had an A hoop tied to roof, no B hoop, s/t doors, and tailgate/lift gate. Sweet trucks!
