40k for a '95 Black D-90?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=31849

Yeah, it's a Beluga Black. Sure, it's got some shiny paint and low milage, but $39k and still climbing? With "reserve not met"? Man, thats some serious green.

With only 11K miles how much work has the dealership really done? Oil change? Maybe three times? It is sharp but certainly not for 40K?!

This Rover must have been part of a collection of cars or better yet a stable!

Where the car is listed, that is a good possibility. That whole area is a money belt so not uncommon for a family to buy that and garage it. I am also sure that someone in that same area would buy it for that price over time.

Unless it has some unique history that we aren't aware of, it's nothing that can't be re-created for far less.

"With only 11K miles how much work has the dealership really done? "

Well why don't you ask him?

You would be suprised at how much work you need if you only drive 1000miles a year.

Do it anyway and let us know what they say.

And no, $49K is not worth it (at least not to me). You might as well build one for that and it'll have some more character than what ever this one has.

LOL

Peer pressure..That's right make the girl do the dirty work. *wink* OK I asked the question as follows:

Quote:
Dear todd7231,

I am curious what work has been done by the dealership? For example: Water pump, rotors, pads, alternator? I am attempting to get a heads up on what the 90 might need if I take possession of it. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Follow up post to come if he replies.

I hope that I did not offend him, nonetheless curious minds wanted to know. He never responded. You guys owe me a Long Island Iced Tea or maybe an Apple Martini!?! *Big Grin* J/K

I can't wait to see what he says.
Maybe the dealer washed it up all nice for him to take those pictures.

How is this truck an automatic as well as a 95. is there something here i don't know about. Great investigative work RoverChic.

I paid 39.9 for mine and it had 20K miles. maybe he wants 1000 dollars every thousand miles below that or something. For 49K this truck better be made out of gold or platinum or driven by the queen of england or something...i guess you get my point

Anyone wanna buy my 97 for 45...ill cut you a deal...*wink wink*

The "automatic" labeling is an Ebay problem. Look at any of the other 94 and 95 auctions. It has something to do with their VIN registration.

FYI: Todd did reply to my question. However he was highly ambiguous in his answer. He responded with ""I have all the paperwork from the dealership and the work that has been done is minimal."" I specifically asked what had been done, not who had done it? We already established the premise that the work was done by the dealer, I asked more specifically if he would elaborate on what mechanical components had been replaced or operated on? Oh well, better luck next time.

P.I. RoverChic *wink*

Thumbs down

Something is shady about this guy and his truck. P.I. RoverChic asks the questions and all he can say is that the dealership has done all the work...Give me a break..I think ill email him and ask him since he hasn't sold it yet if he will take 30K cash for it. I mean damn its already been through 2 or 3 auctions. I mean obviously this guy isn't going to sell this truck for 49,000...
