2024

Cooper Jet Cates will be born in nine days via scheduled c section. He will be the class of 2026 and will get a beautiful blue defender 90 for his 16th birthday in 2024. Smoke a cigar with me on January 9th at about 9 am central. It's been a long road of complications. Cheers to life untainted.

Congrats! My 2 year old is named Cooper. Not sure if it's an idication of the name, being the youngest or just his personality but he is handful - tons of energy and gets into everything. You'll know what I'm talking about in a couple years :D

My Son will be 1 on January 8th. First child. First year has gone too fast - just like I am sure everyone has told you it would.

Enjoy every minute!

Shane, the scariness will change instantly to awe and marvel, as soon as you're holding him in your arms. Then it keeps getting better from there.

Best of luck and Happy New Year!

Thank you all. I.m getting a bit nervous and excited. I installed both car seats yesterday. I have been learning nursery rhymes on guitar. Everyone is telling me how it will be, but I have to figure it out for myself. I can tell you that the house got a lot smaller suddenly. There is baby crap everwhere. My office and my spare room are gone.

It will be at Cox south hospital in Springfield Missouri at 7:30 AM on Wednesday.

I always thought it was no big deal when my friends had children. I was wrong. This is a big deal for me.

Thank you guys again.

If I may suggest something:
- buy a brand new still camera that takes nice pictures
- buy a brand new video camera that makes nice movies
- if going digital, buy large memory chips and external hard drive so you can store without having to file/clean
- scrap all those "I'll do it just after the baby is born" plans, not going to happen.
- go to bed and don't wake up until you have to drive your wife to the hospital. Sleep is what you will beg for in just about two weeks.
- when the baby is born, make sure you take at least 5 pictures per day. A year from now, when you will go back to those "old" pictures, you will not believe how much the baby changed/how little you remember.

Ethan and Lana will be one year old on February 3rd. Still looking for sleep..... But I would do it again! Actually..... I would probably do it earlier! ;-)

Congrats and our best wishes for the delivery!

Check on all of it except the sleep. Monday night tornados hit all around us all night. Last night I was to nervous to sleep. This morning at 7:54 AM Cooper was born. Beautiful 7lb10oz blond haired little boy. I can only say WOW!

The full visual of the C-sec was scary and made me woozy. When I heard the first cry, I had a life changing moment. I'm real happy, proud and tired. I'm going to bed now.

Welcome to fatherhood!

First tip: Change your oil cooler lines...oh wait . When changing your son's diaper, not only do you want to have another diaper ready to go, you'll want to make sure that you're ready for Lil Cooper to fire on you as soon as he's exposed to the cool air. So open it, but don't take it off too soon, give it about 10 seconds...

Second tip: After feeding, don't throw him up in the air.

Congrats to you both!

I think what Ade is describing is the baby equivalent of double clutching. Open it, put it back for a moment, then open again. LOL.

I wouldn't know though - mine are both girls

Congrats!!!!!

Congratulations!!!!!!! My son just turned 1 on the 8th. He is awesome. Enjoy every moment.......

Here is my advice!
1) Give him a bottle in the D-90 soon!
2) Get a picture of him in the D-90! I just looked back at mine, and some early pictures of my son - and can not believe how small he used to be...........

It goes fast - even that first year.
