2019 Defender Concept?

Im still not impressed but saw this on the net.. I wish that LR would not stray from their old design.. Either way Im proud to have my 84 Defender.. I just hope they are not serious IMO.. Either way it will make the old ones worth more because I'm not sure if I would bite if the new ones are going to look like this along with how many other people...

What do you think? Is there hope for better design still?

its not bad exactly as far as SUVs go... if that was the look of the new discovery models I'd be pretty happy with it. But for a defender? nah I wouldn't bite on that one.

It could be a whole lot worse IMHO. Beauty in the eye blah blah blah.

I'm interested in the winch. Is it a real winch behind that sculpted bumper or worthless bling?

Okay, the grill doesn't excite me but the rest is an update of our beloved Defender.

No information here about the interior. Useful? Functional? Or blinged out and wasted space?

And will they sell a diesel in the USA?

Mike

It's a computer drawing. What's behind the bumper? Probably a folder called "Secret shemale pics".

looks like a 1998 Toyota.

The side lines on the doors adds a nice touch. The hood seems better but overall the DC100 looked much better.

Just let Magna Steyr build the next gen from existing molds. Charge 60k and make it legal just like the Geländewagen and call it the Defender Classic.

Should have TATA instead of Land Rover on the bonnet... Just another DINO, like the DC100...

It's just a speculative rendering from a journalist. They're never at all accurate this far out unless they're based on what insiders have seen - which there's no indication of.

"Now, speculative renderings from automotive illustrators at Avarvarii show how the next-gen Land Rover Defender range may look like."

We already know what it "may" look like. This article and thread are useless.

Im not worried at all. LR wouldnt destroy our beloved icon. There is not way the next one will have that rear cross member or natos.

It does have a solid front axle...so there is that.

I'd be ok if they went with an actual body shell. I am surprised the front clip is new vs. stealing something off one of the other models. (Or maybe I don't see it...)

This is not real. It should carry no more weight than something you sketch out on a yellow pad.

some tidbits leaking now about the 2019 Defender Family

Land Rover: Defender family comes together

"Unibody Construction" 3 Bodies (maybe more (8) if comments are to be believed) - some something like the Disco 4 Unibody + Frame concept is my guess.

Cheapest Line up in land rover is reported as well if that is to be believed
