Enjoy.
You beat me to it! I grew up with the old Wagoneers and we always had one. Like driving a tank. There is a niche market for nice stock/restored ones that get a premium price.

So exactly how "big" is the "occasional use" third row seat and cargo area, say compared to an LR3?

It's about half the size of the LR4. The Sport looks great in person, but I will say that most of the engineering seems to be directed st the front seat area. Generous entry to the front; very spacious. The second and third rows seem .to be "convenience" features more than anything else.

Had a good long chat this evening with the chief engineer of the Sport and he offered that it embodies a good bit of customer feedback.

None, other than no third row for the RR.

A bunch of us went to the unveiling last night. The interior looks pretty good from the driver's side but from the passenger side it's just a boring slab of leather. The white cream leather they picked was also not the smartest choice since it was already dirty by the end of the night. The party itself was a lot of fun and it was funny meeting up with a bunch of people from the boards who I had no idea would even be in attendance. The drinks were flowing and I'm definitely feeling the consequences of them today.

Dammit. I just realized George and I were standing next to Simon Le Bon from Duran Duran last night and didn't say hello. I've never seen him with a mustache, and George and I were comparing him to Captain Kangaroo. George and I were getting ready to walk the red carpet entryway, and I was showing him how you don't actually smile when they're taking your photograph (you just stare past the cameras and pout your lips a little and look left, right, center) when we saw them getting their photos taken. I just thought he was some creepy old dude with a much younger lady, but she ended up being Yasmin Le Bon (supermodel from the 80s) who is almost 50!

She's the one in the blue suit in this "article" - look at the photo of Daniel Craig to see an example of how to pose on the red carpet. He nailed it.

This guy looks to have the pouty face down, but coupled with a shit eating grin all the same. Must be a pro poser at these events. Oh wait, he looks familiar.....

There may be pics and "clever" comments, but what happened at the RRS premiere stays at the RRS premiere. No names, no details.

Josh - if you had worn your ascot they would have let you walk the carpet as well.

Daniel Craig was paid $1 million to drive the Sport in to the event, get out, stand in front of some cameras for 2 minutes, and leave without saying a single word to the audience. I wonder if he even knows he missed out on some good canapes!

Any pictures of that Ron? Haven't heard of a LWB coming.

I wish LR would stop rounding the front end of all the models. Cringe at what the next Lr3/4 and 90 will look like. They all look like fords now.
