Does anyone here own one of these? Looking for any known issues/opinions.

Wouldn't take much to make it a decent hunting machine.

For that price you could get a rhd Tithonus and have a little left over.

You would be happier with a Polaris RZR XP 1000. Build quality, Ride, accessories, there is a reason they are sold 4:1.

This is for work, not really wheelin or pleasure crawling...plus it's almost 5k more. For some reason I don't like the look of the Razor so much...If I paid attention to 4:1 I'd be drivin a Jeep

In Australia It's hard to stop those little trucks when 4 wheeling... Lifted and bigger tyres... As long as you don't tip em over they go just about anywhere...except the freeway..

Is it for you to drive at work or for employees? Nobody takes better care of your stuff than you. If it's for them go used and go cheap. If it's for the big boss man then get what you like.

I have a 2013 commander x. In most regards they are pretty similar to the max. I test drove in every make and model to see what fit me best. In the end I liked the commanders sport utility combo. It has a useable bed with good room and power/performance to boot. The only 1000 has plenty of get up
Having owned one for awhile the issues I have noted are (2 seater disclaimer) it gets warm. But seems like par for the course for side by sides that are two seaters. It's a bit noisy when going 35mph+. Ear plugs and all solved there. Steering arms are pretty crap. I've done a couple pair so far. Don't recommend going HD right away. But if you bend the steering arm get an aftermarket set. Way cheaper and better strength. Get power steering whatever you do. It's just that nice.

Now I did toss around many of the comments above around. Just get a D that does this. It's road legal, etc, etc. But at the end of the day you don't take terrain at the speed of the side by side in a defender. Two very different rates of travel. Yes, either will do largely the same terrain but I cover a lot more ground in the commander than the D could. Just different applications.
I hear the 2014+ have a new rear diff that has reduced some of that 35+ noise.
Overall no show stoppers. Good rig in my opinion.
