Looks like a real NAS. Probably meant built in 1996 for 1997 export.

James French is a very well respected dealer over here. not likely to be dodgy at all.

like you say though... 1996 not 2006... that would make it a Td5! (V8's were stopped in production, apart from very special orders, about 1998 i think.)

Just put the number plate (registration plate) into microcat, no build date shows, but its VIN is SALLDVAM4MA990422

4.0 V8 EFI automatic LHD regular.

no other details shown.

Most of Euro build vehicles fall a year behind because they use the Built Date not the Release date.

Whatever date is on the plate ( i.e. man date 10/96 will be a 1996 in Europe and a 1997 here in the US ) is the year of the vehicle

I remember this when it was at Guy Harwood's place, it's the real deal, I think he had more than one there from memory too - a white one rings a dim bell.

Only if brake dust gets on the spare wheel too.

A customer of mine bought the white NAS 90 from Harwoods. He has a Badger I GK, bikini top and seat covers. He was on the cover of LRM October 2004 with a 5 page article.

I spoke with James French today, its a 1996, and has recently been restored by his local Bentley restoration shop. In his words it is perfect.

There were at least 2 (or maybe 3) automatic NAS 90 Soft tops that had build dates in 1996, but their US VIN's were actually 1995. They were "prototypes", that were shown to the North American dealer body prior the "re-launch" in 1997. I only know of 1 that made the trip across the pond, a red one (last time I saw it, it was in SC or TN). There was also a white one, I assume the one spoken about at LR Harwood. Perhaps this yellow truck is the 3rd one?

No, the one I'm talking about is a soft top.

The one you're thinking of was actually featured in a LROI article back in 2001. It was a '95 wagon that was originally loaned out to Safety Devices for some type of R&D. It was later imported to the states. It started life as a manual trans and was converted to automatic once it arrived here stateside. I have the original LROI article featuring that truck.

This vehicle the James French has was never exported to the USA. It was one of two made in this colour for the press. The other is in the Heritage Collection at Gaydon.
