2006-2007 Range Rover

A good friend of mine wants to buy a 2006-2007 Range rover. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts on them, and if there is a better model year or "trim" package to purchase.
Thanks

There is no such thing as a stripped down model.

06 was the first year of the Jag engine... So, I would say 07 or 08. A lot of info can be found on www.rangerovers.net

2007 has the newer style dash with terrain response etc. It will have better resale value. more warranty and extended warranty may be available.

I would go 07 or 08, but from what I've heard the new ones are all okay, no major issues... The only differences in the models are the options (wheels, HD package, rear video, etc.) and luxury package/supercharged and the previously mentioned...

Do your homework on rangerovers.net. Although less power the models with the BMW engine "seemed to have less headaches" Otherwise make sure its still under warranty.

Will refrain from too many negative comments but even when you're in warranty, the hassle factor of so many dealer visits takes away all of the joy of driving a pretty cool machine. Better choices out there.

Thanks for the input
He wasn't looking for a stripped down model, I just wanted to know the diff options available. He's a defense attorney and he needs a flash ride to impress the criminals.

Jaguar engines have been MUCH better than the BMW ones. The cars themselves as well as the engines far better from a service standpoint. So, go 2007 and up if possible.
