2004 G4 Disco

I've been considering the purchase of an '04 Discovery G4 edition. My question is: Would I be able to tow my Defender on a car hauler trailer with the Disco? I have a load distributing hitch with the anti sway bars that I've used with my Grand Cherokee. I've been looking at the specs of the G4 and I believe I'd be okay. Any thoughts??

We towed my D90 about 200 miles with a '04 D2 w/o a problem. You just have to have the right trailer and distribute the load properly.. It won't be the best tower in the world, but it should do the job.

I understand it won't tow like a F350, but I would like the ability to take the D90 to a couple of places and keep the mileage off of it. By the way, how did you like the '04 D2? Anything /I should look out for?

I've heard the '03s quality suffered with labor turmoil. Also, I believe there were some specific defects. The 04's were supposedly better quality wise, and also had the differential shift.

I have a '01 D2... but have driven a few '04s... the 4.6 is very nice, and they have the CDL as mentioned above.. They weren't prone to the oil pump failures that plagued a lot of 03s either. All together, I'd say it's the best Discovery made, minus the debate between D1 vs D2's offroad ability.
