2000 110 on autotrader.

Found a 110 for sale on Autotrader. Based on the sellers comments(see below) it looks like he knew Barry might give him a call. Wonder how he got the truck in. I tried to copy and past link but was too big.

xtremely Rare opportunity. . Diesel Defender 110. . Great condition, Lots of recent work done. Great gas Mileage. . No leaks newer gaskets and filters. . One of very very few of these in the US. Please call with serious inquiries only. I love this car but dont really want to chat about it. I want to sell it!! Cheers,

You didn't even post a link yet you are trying to mock me?

Funny enough I just looked it up and I know the truck. If it is the one I think it is, it was last scene up in San Fran

I tried to post a link but it was really long. I'm really not a computer guru. I just thought it was funny he would add that in the description. I know there are several folks like myself who are always looking to see what is for sale. I wonder how this truck is titled. Is it a 2000 or a 84 or something later.

If you post a long link, the site will automatically shorten it so it is only a certain number of characters long as seen in the post, although the full link still remains in the "background".

Do none of you worry about driving a truck that really isn't allowed in the US on the road? If you kill someone on the road with your "grey market" Defender, lawyers are going to have a field day taking you to the cleaners. Call me a baby but this is was kept me looking at NAS only and not some 2005 Defender with a 1985 VIN...

You're a baby. Why would you waste your life worrying about what lawyers might do to you? If I were a lawyer, I'd be worried about someone having a field day kicking my ass for interfering with their free will. And by someone, I mean me.

Well said. You might get away with breaking the law, but why take the chance.

I wouldn't give a damn about the lawyers, my concerns would be ; how did a 2000 truck get here, how did it get registered, who did what to it, and will I get stuck with a truck I can't legally register?

depends on when it was imported. I didn't read the ad, but if it was imported back then, it wasn't quite as crazy as it is now. It seems that there were a few imported and registered back then for just what they were.

This comes to mind:

Only concern should be how it came in the country, getting title and how it can be registered. There is no theory for why a grey market vehicle would be any more dangerous to other drivers or pedestrians than a vehicle meant for the US market.

That looks like the truck that Southhamtonrover did a few years back and then sold to Red Mountain Rovers.

You can contact DOT with a Vin and find out if a truck is legally here- that assumes of course that the seller provides you with the 2000 VIN.

Grey market is any truck brought in other than by LRNA. There are thousands of legal grey market trucks in the US. Grey market has no illegal connotation.
If its is correctly imported, titled, registered, and insured as what it is, how is it illegal or a liability in any way ? It appears as though you have made unsubstantiated assumptions.
Don't get me wrong, I don't know anything about this truck, but assuming you don't either.
