My LT77 is the original D suffix. Based on everything I've read, I keep waiting for it to blow up since it's behind a 200Tdi. I keep waiting, and waiting...

My father has the 1.2 behind the 300tdi with 285's and its a little too tall for take offs on really steep hills. I will be swapping it for the 1.4 I am building on the bench now. Congrats Dave.

There is always low range for the occasional extremely steep hill. Start in 2nd low, then shift to 2nd high, easy to do. He needs to up the fueling.

My LT77 is a D but it seems to work good, maybe I will just use it and see how long it lasts.

When I got my 90 I thought the trans was going out (making a bad noise) so I had planned to replace it but when I pulled the old motor I found that the throwout bearing was trashed. Now that I have a new clutch, throwout and pressure plate the noise is gone
