The number of people who know how to drive an auto in the US is higher than the number of people who know how to drive manual. You therefore have more people competing for the autos, it was only produced in auto for one year, plus convincing the spouse on a vehicle that the household doesn't need usually requires picking something that both spouses can drive...then reread the first point.

Look, I'm a cheapf*ck. And even I agree a good price would be $22k and a great price would be $18k. $13k? Horsey have you been taking your meds?

Does the automatic increase the value of a 90 or decrease the value? I prefer stick, but I figure the Hamptons/Nantucket set want to push the gas and go. So like for like which one gets a better price?

Thanks.
The theory is the auto is more valuable but I, personally, wouldn't buy one.

You wouldn't buy it if it was $13k? That's a great price! Haha it's not like it matters - it's not like the dealer is ever going to sell this for any amount of money we ever place on this...

The 97's tend to command higher prices.

Shit yeah I'd buy it at $13! I'm saying I'd buy it at $18! And keep in mind that another Rover purchase would likely equate to me sleeping on the couch for 2-6 months.

You may already be headed in that direction. I am thinking of buying a 90 ST to leave in CA for when am I out there. How big is your couch?

"it's not like the dealer is ever going to sell this for any amount of money we ever place on this..."

Except the last dealer couldn't sell it for $30k and the current dealer is trying to sell it for 9K more using doctored old pictures. At some point even used car dealers have to face market realities. Or at least that's what I want to believe...

Keep you posted and thanks for the advice.
