Cool. That looks legit to me. You can't make the undersides look like that by faking.

But then they pick it up on the lift via front sway bar? WTF!

Of course some of it is staged, they are trying to sell the 90. They aren't going to show it all covered in dust and trying to jump it with a battery pack.

Pity it's such a crappy model ... red, ST and slush box ... if it had been something decent like a 95 White 95 SW you might have got my interest.

I'll pass.

So anyone want to hazard a guess as to the price? It does look amazing!

It's actually priceless. It's the rarest kind of D90 in the world. It's a NAS model. It's automatic. It's a soft top. When did land rover ever make this model other than 1997? How many 97 STs were actually manufactured?

It depends how many times it gets traded and re-traded. That super low miles NAS 110 that I found and posted last year sold quickly on eBay for just under $100k and then it showed up at ECR and went for significantly more than that.

Wonder if this is one of those from that story (Urban Myth?) about the guy who bought 4 or 5 '97's and stuck them away in an Airplane Hanger to sell later, presumably for great profit..

True, but we put a ton of money into that 110 to make it cherry. It was low miles but did need work. It wasn't just flip profit.

1997 Land Rover Defender 90 NAS with 50 original miles

Not sure if everyone has already seen this, but i saw this on ECR's Facebook page earlier. I called and spoke with the guy at Motoexotica and he said they were asking $249,000:
(sorry if this is posted right)

https://www.facebook.com/permalink.p...&stream_ref=10

Pics:
http://motoexotica.com/defender_90_gallery/index.html

Walkaround:

From the youtube description:

VIN - SALVD2240VA115223

• Lowest Mileage Defender 90 in EXISTENCE!! (NAS)
• 50 ORIGINAL MILES!!!
• COMPLETELY Original!
• ONE Owner!
• Babied and Garaged in a Climate Controlled Garage!
• COMPLETELY Serviced for Safety & Vehicle Integrity!
• Incredible Investment Vehicle!
• ONCE IN A LIFETIME Find!

MotoeXotica Classic Cars is ecstatic to present an absolutely incredible 1997 Land Rover Defender 90. This beautiful SUV, number 1459 to be exact, is literally in showroom condition and is THE lowest mileage Defender 90 in EXISTENCE (by NAS Standards)!! This SUV is SO original that it still is covered in factory Cosmoline and has NEVER been washed! It's safe to say that it is EXTREMELY UNLIKELY that another vehicle of this caliber will come up for sale to the public!

This handsome Defender comes to us under unfortunate circumstances. We have been given the honor of liquidating this Defender on behalf of our local Commerce Bank Trust Company, who is the conservator for the selling party. The seller, a die-hard automobile collector of ALL sorts, has fallen terminally ill in an untimely fashion. This gentleman has a fine assortment of impeccable vehicles, including this Land Rover, a 1954 MG TF, 1949 MG TC, 1957 Ford Thunderbird and a 1969 Jaguar E Type, amongst others. Please know that this incredibly preserved and 100% correct vehicle has been babied and garaged in a climate controlled garage since he took delivery of the vehicle over 17 years ago. That's right -- he took delivery of this fine British SUV, backed it into his garage, parked it and NEVER drove it again.

Finished in the rarely seen "Monza Red," this Defender 90 Soft Top is one of 183 Monza Red D90's ever built, starting in 1997 when the color was introduced. When delivery was taken on this vehicle, there was never a PPI done on the D90, the ORIGINAL, NEVER MOUNTED window sticker is still intact on its ORIGINAL paperback and there is still Cosmoline on the exterior of the SUV! This vehicle is a literal TIME CAPSULE! The black canvas soft top is in impeccable condition -- as in the top has NEVER been down and the factory tool is still sealed in its original packaging! The vinyl windows are also in excellent condition - however; there is a mar on the left rear side vinyl window, which is the ONLY flaw we've been able to find on the entire vehicle. As mentioned before, this is literally a once in a lifetime opportunity to get an extremely sought after British SUV!

Inside, the interior still smells BRAND NEW. The entire interior is pristine, down to the rubber floor mats. The center Tuffy box contains an AM/FM/Cassette player and appears to have been opened maybe once. The seats are wrapped in gray Duragrain and show absolutely zero signs of wear or imperfection. Duragrain is a durable, vinyl material that is weatherproof and was designed to be easily cleaned up. The doors are also in phenomenal condition, as well as the dashboard. The dash houses the original Land Rover gauges as well as a clock and 12 volt receptacle.

Under the hood, the D90 boasts the 241 cubic inch, 4.0L V8, capable of 182 horsepower. Attached to the engine is a ZF 4-Speed automatic transmission with transmission oil cooler and permanent 4-wheel drive. It comes complete with power steering, air conditioning 4-wheel disc power brakes. It sits upon a set of 7" x 16" cast aluminum alloy "Freestyle" Land Rover wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich All Terrain LT265/75R16 tires. There is a matching full size spare on the back of the SUV that is covered with the OEM tire cover.

When we took it in on consignment, we wanted to be 100% positive that the vehicle was in perfect running shape and safe -- so we took it to Plaza Land Rover in St. Louis to have it serviced. Let it be noted that Plaza Land Rover is the dealership which took delivery of the D90 back in 1997! On the included invoice, you will see that the "IN" mileage is 41 and the "OUT" mileage is 49. At Plaza, they drained and cleaned the fuel tank, installed a new fuel pump and seal, changed the original oil out for fresh oil, flushed the coolant, power steering fluid and both differentials, bled the brakes and put in new fluid and then they even entered the original radio code so that the radio would work. All of this necessary work for safety was done at a cost of over $2,200 so that you may be assured that the integrity of the D90 and its future driver will remain intact!

This truly is a once in a lifetime find. As mentioned before, it is extremely unlikely that another MINT, ONE OWNER '97 Land Rover Defender 90 of this caliber and this low of mileage will ever be up for sale in the public eye ever again! This is the REAL deal as it is the lowest mileage D90 in EXISTANCE by NAS Standards! The VIN is SALDV2240VA115223 and the mileage currently shows 50. It is being sold on a clean and clear Missouri title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!

We stole that link from here.

Imagining what one could build an average '97 90ST into for $200K.
