Good catch. Why does a sub 11k truck have new tires? The originals on mine didn't have white lettering. I eventually moved mine to my wife's suburban and got another 40K more out of them.

From my knowledge, or at least I have been told, none of the trucks delivered from LR had white lettering on the tires (front or back).

Is it true or did someone tell me a lie?

Because it was a 16 year old truck that had been sitting in storage. Tires that sit for long periods of time are not safe to drive on. It was a safety precaution.

Just to clarify...Not bashing your purchase nor am I saying you got crooked. I am legitimately curious to know if what I have been told is true.

Likely original tires lost air at some point and perished. Owner replaces tires as a wise precaution. If you hear hooves think horses not zebras!

I guess I am being misunderstood. I do not doubt this vehicle or it's mileage.

What I am wondering is if anyone knows, for certain, if the LR factory delivered these vehicles with tires that had no white lettering (and when I say "these vehicles", I mean all NAS D90's). Just curious is all.

The tires have a lettered side and a non-lettered side. It's the orientation in which they are mounted that determines if the letters face in or out.

NOW they do. The NAS ones apparently did not have white lettering on ANY side is what he's saying. I've read that elsewhere as well.

NOT ORIGINAL TIRES! They are aftermarket BFGs and they are horribly placed with white letters out. I'm sorry God!

On BFG AT's, the E-rated tires have one side white lettered and the other side black lettered. In my experience, most of the tire shops carry E-rated BFG AT's in stock for aftermarket use. However, most manufacturers of 4x4's use D-rated tires as standard, and I'm pretty sure that is what came on the D90's. The D-rated tires don't have any white lettering. I am currently running D-rated BFG AT's on my Rubicon and can confirm that they do not not have any white lettering on either side.

Man, that is an awesome looking truck. I would flip it so quick it would make your head spin. Done right, you own a D90 without paying a cent....

+1 on selling it. Find the right buyer and put the money into a something you can enjoy driving every day and taking on the trails. If it were me I'd sell and get one of these nice 130s that keep popping up on the forum.

Congrats on the find!
