"In 2000 Landy was changed into a Camel Trophy Defender together with a 300 Tdi
4 Cylinder Diesel engine, an automatic transmission, 1.4 transfer box with an Ashcroft low box."

You can convert a NAS into a CT?

It would be a lot cooler if they left it a Station Wagon.

A diesel in California? Someone is desperate to sell now.....no rear marker lights. Gone. Front fenders do not have NAS side markers.ROW Tailights suggest the rear tub was imported from a TD5 complete with EEC spec rear fog light. Front seats don't match rear bench whose occupants are left outside not protected by the half cab. Lets say there is a little overspray on the hi lift.

Overall, I suspect this truck has been rebuilt after being totaled and destroyed.

Lets just call this "Camel Style"

Its 335/500 of the STATION WAGONS and in the LRFAQ is credited with the following: Rock Sliders, Roof Rack, Rear Lights, Sand Ladders (PAP), Brush Bar, Snorkel, Brush Wires, Pick and Shovel mounted on wings, Bonnet mounted Spare, 8 Roof mounted lights (corners & 4 forward), high lift jack, GPS, Winch, Skid Plates, 13 gallon Aux Tank

I saw this truck back at the end of September at Rover Rendezvous. Put together really well with all the nice to have bits and bobs. I agree that he could have made his listing a little cleaner, "Camel Trophy Style" would have been a better description..

True, esp given the CT only used 90's for two years. A decade before this truck was made.

Coz I don't do knockoffs... Camel trucks were never nas trucks.. Were never soft top and definitely NOT automatics..s and they only used the defender90 2 years in the camel events and this wasn't one of them...just coz you paint it sandglow and call it a camel doesn't mean to say it has ANYTHING to do with it... This is nothing other than a cheap attempt at a knockoff....if you're gonna try to pass something off as a camel at least do a bit of research first and try to make it believable.....
Merry freaking Christmas..
Since I just sold my 97 d90 for over 70 grand it was definitely worth more before he bobo-ed it up.. Such a waste of nice kit..

Amen, brother. I don't get why people screw up NAS trucks, given that unmolesterized versions are becoming more and more rare.

Mark the owner of this truck is a great guy. I've been on many trips with him through SCLR. Not all people buy these trucks as investments, and some actually use them as intended. Mark is one of them that wheels his trucks. In addition he has a molested NAS 110 that will make some of you purist cry on Christimas as well. No desperate sale here thou, just an itch to start a new build.

Understand... But you can't advertise something as a nas camel trophy just coz its sand glow..it reeks of misleading dishonesty... I know it describes just what was done... But I can't paint a Prius sandglow and call it a camel trophy truck..

------ Follow up post added December 25th, 2014 09:36 AM ------

Let me clarify before the flamers start..... You can't paint a nas truck sandglow and call it a camel......without expecting some backlash...

And diesel stick shift... Quite a good vehicle compared to the crap that we got in the USA... Aside from the engine and trans here I would love a freelander for my daughter...

I agree on not calling it a CT vehicle... But your sale price isn't as valid a comparison as the price you bought it for from your former customer.

NAS truck and "camel" aside, this looks like a hell of an effort. A SW converted to ST, tub is ROW, exhaust thought the tub, TDI and auto conversion. I would bet this truck may have had issues first given the new tub. But he definitely had a vision. I wish him luck with the sale.
